Pre-race dramas with lucky endings

The first team to have a dramatic arrival was AndanteAleDeTo. The team had big problems to find a fourth teammate, and found one just a few days before the race. However, this fourth teammate called two hours before their departure from home: He could not come! A frantic search for another one started. Surprisingly they have actually found one in those remaining two hours. He joined them late in the evening.
The Ukrainian team adventurerace.in.au had a similar problem. One of their team members did not receive a visa for the European Union. The remaining three members arrived to Pastviny ready to race as an incomplete team. But nothing is impossible in the world of adventure racing. Two quick calls from the race director (and active racer) Tomas Vanek were sufficient to find an adequate substitute. Jan Kotyk promised to come.
The race will also see the world premiere of a four-member Greek adventure racing team. Czech Adventure Race will be the first race for Adventure Team Greece and, as far as they know, no other Greek team has participated in any similar race. The organizers even had to lend them a pair of in-line skates.
You can watch live tracking on www.adventurerace.cz. There will be almost live results from most of checkpoints. The race has a new element in graphical presentation. You will be able to watch graphs showing whether time differences between teams are increasing or decreasing.
