Orion on Final Push to Finish, Merrell Move into 2nd!

And just when you thought the podium places were all tied up, in a major upset, Team Merrell-Zanfel have overtaken Salomon Crested Butte during the trek (SCB) to take second place. SCB have held second for virtually the entire race, while Merrell seem to be pulling out an extremely strong finish.
Interestingly both teams appear to have had navigation troubles on the trek in the same place Orion had trouble overnight, so even with the help of daylight it is obviously still very tricky terrain!
The two teams are still neck and neck, with Merrell only 9 minutes ahead at CP34. Merrell appear to have corrected for a navigation error and currently look to be back on track and extending their lead, while Salomon still appear to be having some difficulty in the confusing terrain judging by their tracker zig zags!
I'm sure you will all join me in cheering on Orion in their final few hours of racing - it really has been a magnificent effort on their part completely dominating the entire race against some strong opposition. They will no double be looking forward to a hot shower and a nice soft bed - after the obligatory winners champagne of course!
