Registration on the way with an astounding landscape

The first part of the registration is well under away and there hasn’t been a moment in the day without completely clear blue skies, a strong but not stifling sunlight and a truly inspiring surrounding. Most teams have completed this stage including seven out of eight international teams who are astounded by the view and the tantalizing scene that shows hints of what is to come. Only 5 are still to come in the following hours.<br /><br />

With only three hours to go until the end of this stage, teams are moving around completing all the aspects which include getting all their requisite gear, signing release forms, getting the official team photo and receiving a delicious plate of pasta from our sponsor; Toscana.<br /><br />
<br /><br />
The teams that have already completed this stage are resting before everyone gets together to find out the route they will all be taken on over the next three days. There is a clear undercurrent of excitement that shows how anxious everyone is of finally finding out where they will be going and for the countdown of the start of the race to begin. <br /><br />
<br /><br />
The view that everyone at the registration site is facing is of the beautiful Yaguarcocha Lake, deep in the valley between Cotacachi and Imbabura. Though there is a strong wind, it hasn’t deterred anyone from stopping however briefly to gaze up into the mountains and surely every member of the team has considered the diverse ecosystems they might be facing in the highlands. <br /><br />
