Huairasinchi´s Route Has Been Revealed!

Race director, Santiago López started the event and the Mayor of Ibarra, Jorge Martínez welcomed the teams to its charming city, and province of Imbabura, wishing them a great and fair race. Energy scaled up with last year Huairasinchi´s video that reminded all teams the tough and fun challenge they had accepted, one that was hours away from starting.
The environmental dimension of the race was highlighted through a video of the campaign 4years.go that states that we need to awaken to new lifestyles, to change the faith of our planet, and a talk about the relationship between humans and nature in the context of the support Huairasinchi has given to preserving the Yasuni National Park in Ecuador, one of the most biodiverse places on earth. Racers were hence advocated to cause the least impact through the fragile ecosystems they are going to visit.
All teams were presented in an atmosphere of adrenaline and support for all teams. Every team had its moment of glory acknowledging that many of them are aiming for the first place, and the competition will be rough.
The organization gave advice regarding safety issues, recommending a cordial relationship with the communities, and reminding them of the key points about rope safety and necessary health care.
