Huairasinchi 2010
Tough night for teams and support crews at Huairasinchi
Natalia Greene / 14.02.2010

Many cars from the organization and from the support crews have had mechanical problems, even forcing team Bosi International to rent a new car and continue racing, so it has been a hard race for the big group around the teams that make this race possible.
The reward for both categories and the support teams this morning was an amazing, a clear sunrise next to Piñan lake, one of the most beautiful and isolated highlands in Ecuador with a population of only around 80 people.
The first teams continue strongly, winning places; so far the race is led by team Ecuador Chevrolet, followed by Buff Thermocool, Safety Smart Wear and Bosi International.
During the day, teams will have to go down to Elita; 1000 meters and then go back to the Páramo de El Ángel located 3800 meters high. Here, in the highlands, teams will see the famous giant frailejones at the El Angel ecological reserve.
Only four teams have withdrawn from the race; Lippi, Team Wenger-Sigg, Fybecca Cordillera Edelrid and Kinross, mainly because of exhaustion.
All competitors are safe and the race continues.
