Huairasinchi 2010
Teams Arrive at the Finish Line in Huairasinchi
Isabela Green / 15.02.2010

The area through which they had to pass started in the highlands of ‘Él Ángel’ a difficult area to cross. They were then met by their support crews and transitioned to mountain bikes. The following 70–80 kms was taxing with steep climbs and descents, testing their limits and strength.
Teams Bosi International, Cementos Chimborazo, Ziró and Cayambe Extremo abandoned the race and the rankings changed constantly as some teams cut off some PCs and other either stayed behind or went ahead.
Throughout the entire day, Huairasinchi organization teams, support crews and teams have worked and raced tirelessly as they approached and arrived at the finish line.
The elite teams biked 81.5km to Yahuarcocha Lake where they had to complete a circuit 9.6km long and the adventure teams biked 75.6 km before also arriving to Yahuarcocha. The teams varied in the time it took for them to go around the lake and after exiting the lake they ran the final leg of 1.3km to the finish line around the official car racing track in Ibarra.
