Less than 4 minutes separate the top three teams
Jacqueline Windh / 01.03.2010

A lost passport at PC19 was for Alcance Leones threw them abruptly out of the competition. Navigation was problematic for Ischgualasto Parque Triásico, costing them a half hour that proved enough to drop them from first place at the beginning of Day 3, to 4th. But for the remaining three teams, the race was both tough and close.
Team Merida Laboratorios Abraham’s Corina Butti had twisted her knee on the first day - but her team-mates worked with her, helping her massage and stretch at night, to minimize the effects of the injury. Moving into the final navigational run of Day 3, Corina tells me that “Ariel is by far our best runner, so we just latched on to him and he towed us all.
