Xtremo6000
A few growing pains as it moves towards ARWS norms
Jacqueline Windh / 03.04.2010

The Chile earthquake happened in the wee hours of Day 3 of Xtremo 6000. It was strong enough that it woke-up pretty much everyone in town - except for your overtired SleepMonsters reporter, that is - but it didn’t cause any damage there. We didn’t get much news about it, though - most of us didn’t know how serious the quake was until a day or too later. It must have been strong for us to feel it, 1000 km away. I was told that the hotel swimming pool was like a surf zone, right outside my window.
So, what that meant for me was extensive flight delays getting home, and a whole bunch of stuff to deal with once I got there, after having been away for a total of 5 weeks. So that’s why this post-race report is so late. But it was such a good race, that I want to post it, along a few more photos, anyway!
