FLC Hardtale.com were the first team in leading the Mixed category while Pacific Survey were hot on their heels leading the All Mens teams in the Half. Can't Rythm with Orange were only a minute behind, rounding out the three teams to make it in before 10am.
Not far back in the chase were teams Weapons of Self Destruction, Nitelight.nz, Absolute Disfunction, RF SART and the Adventure Angels who are leading the female category.
Full course teams are closing the gap between the half course competitors and the front pack are now only about 45 minutes behind. Rockwallabies were the first to arrive at 10:45, followed by Instant Humans and Mexicans at 10:48. CBD Cycles and Infinit Nutrition Scar were a couple minutes behind them while Rogue are leadng the Male category and were about 10 minutes ahead of iAdventure through the transition just before 11.
On this trek teams have had to deal wtih swamp, navigational challenges and in some cases Lantana. Buggered if I Know obviously hit a bit as one of their team mates had a decent set of scratches on his neck after leading their charge through the bush. All in all though, the racers are in high spirits and are plowing into the kayak leg.
Expect the Full course teams to catch the half course leaders on this next leg in their faster boats.
