Mountain Designs Geoquest 48hr Adventure Race and Geo-Half
Teams to watch in GeoQuest 2010
Michael McMahon / 21.08.2010

In the premier mixed category, the Mexicans which includes half of team Blackheart (who finished in 1st place in this years XPD event) are likely to be one of the strongest teams in the competition. These guys have competed in every GeoQuest event run to date and generally put on a good showing, so look out for them in the top placings again this year.
In the mixed category, CBD Cycles is another very fit team of athletes from Victoria who will no doubt be giving the Mexicans a run for their money in the top ranks along with the Australian Outdoor Geographic team. Team Cartera Maps from New Zealand are a dark horse entrant, featuring some very good Adventure Racers from across the Tasman and may also be ones to look out for in the top placings.
In the mens category there are a number of strong teams this year including iAdventure/iRule which includes Matt Koerber from Blackheart Events and Infinit Nutrition SCAR from SE Qld. These teams may have their work cut out for them if they are to beat Rogue who placed first in the Male division last year and will be looking for a top 10 finish this year.
The female category is well represented with MacPac Girls on Top who finished strongly at XPD this year and will be up against competition from Goldfish Girls, while the Adventure Angels and Froret will be battling it out in the GeoQuest half course.
In the half course mixed category, Three Blokes featuring mother & son Su and James Pretto are likely to go well. James came third in the 2010 Bribie Island Multisport challenge (100km race).
In the Male category Pacific Survey feature world MTB Enduro 24 Hour Solo champion Jason English, a Port Macquarie local, who will no doubt add considerable depth of talent on the bike. Fully Rad to the Power of Sick can also be expected to give the course a good bash following their recent performance at XPD Cairns.
