Mountain Designs Geoquest 48hr Adventure Race and Geo-Half
Teams battle through freezing temps and bush overnight

CBD Cycles have suffered a similar fate after spending a fair bit of time in the lead of the race with the Mexicans. They stopped to have a 20 minute sleep which wrecked havoc with body temperatures and the woman on their team began to suffer from hypothermia. As at 6am she was being looked after by support crew and will recover.
On the trek leg team Walkom Wheel Estate had a team member suffering from a sprained ankle and this caused problems on the trek leg. Despite attempting to soldier on, he was having trouble staying upright so the team has progressed as a 3 man unranked team.
A couple of teams, Medicine in Motion and Macquarie Business Accountants decided that it would be unwise to proceed from CP10 at the end of the canyoning leg and have instead walked out along the road to Rollands Plains where I'm told it was particularly freezing last night. They have met their support crews there and will no doubt be warming up with hot bevys and breakfast this morning.
Code 2 Revert I'm told spent the night at CP10 and found themselves a bit light on warm gear for the night. They've been able to borrow some thankfully and are trekking this morning towards CP15.
The last part of the trek leg has proved a technical challenge for navigators on the course. Those teams that have stayed on the ridge and proceeded down as late as possible have fared well (iAdventure/iRule take only an hour on this section) whereas those that have come off the ridge early (Mexicans and others) have had to deal with lantana and thick bush on the south east facing side of the hill, taking a couple hours to complete the leg.
