Finish Line and Grand Finale

At the end of the day a time charged with emotions, when and who would be the next team to arrive? Every minute of the long anticipation has been worth while. A quick review of the race´s results, to get a general picture, but which will be thoroughly analyzed once all the control points hand in their scores.

The teams have been classified in two categories:
The ELITE and the ADVENTURE teams.
The ELITE ARE:

2.QUECHUA from France #12
3.BOSI ZOOM RADIO, Colombia and Spain #15
4.REAL COSTA RICA COASTAL CHALLENGE, Costa Rica and Canada #5
5.TIERRA VIVA, Argentina, Paraguay and Colombia #11


The teams of the second category are:
1.WENGER, France #3
2.BIMBACHE EXTREME 2011, Spain #14
3.AGRICENTER CARIBE, Costa Rica #6
4.GENIE, Costa Rica and England #8
5.GRUPO OROSI-COSTA RICA SPIRIT, Costa Rica #7
6.SUBARU, Canada and Australia #10

The teams that were unable to finish the race and were therefore disqualified are:

Multisport.fi, Finland #2
Multisport Omjakon, Finland #1
IQ RADIO COSTA RICA #4
CHECKPOINT ZERO, USA #13
SAFETY SMART WEAR, Colombia and Costa Rica #16
QUASAR LONDRA, Brazil #18

Even though the teams Quasar Londra, Columbia Zoom Radio and Multisport Omajakon, did not qualify, they completed the entire programme of tasks and reached the finish line. These teams had only two remaining members, as the other members had to quit at various points along the route. By accomplishing the goal, they demonstrated their expertise and sportsmanship and therefore they deserve a well earned recognition.

The closing ceremony is about to start. A day for celebration!

All members of the staff, sponsors, press, media, family and friends who loyally have followed each step of the race have gathered to cheer all the members of the teams and share the joy of their achievement. So, we say farewell to the Costa Rica Adventure Race 2010 but not before a great celebration, here in Villas Playa Samara in Guanacaste, Costa Rica.
