The Sting in Stirling
Free Adventure at the Sting in Stirling Prologue
News Release / 13.08.2012

Are you feeling inspired after our fantastic success at the Olympics? Would you like to compete against top adventure racing teams from around the globe? We are offering you a bite size adventure for free on the 19th August.
Navigate your way on the trails, tracks and hills around the historic city of Stirling. Be prepared to get wet and test your navigation skills. All you need to do is turn up at The PEAK with your team and register from 18:00 and then make your way to the start line by 19:00 at Stirling Castle. You’ll need running shoes (compass maybe handy for some) and a bike or two.
The prologue is part of a much larger event for certain teams, a 5 day non-stop adventure race. So if you want a piece of the action but can’t commit to the full event why not enter the prologue, it’s certainly not your usual relay.
Nervous – well don’t be the aim of the race is to give you a taste of what the real adventure racers will incur - the emphasis is on fun.
Team Tri Active Stirling Get Ready for an Adventure on Their Doorstep
Team Tri Active Stirling, are buzzing with anticipation for what will be the adventure of a life time as they head off into the Scottish wilderness in search of little black boxes with red and white tape attached called 'dibbers'. These will become our sole focus over the coming 5 day adidas Terrex Adventure Race trying to collect as many as we can a bit like Team GB collecting gold medals each 'dibber' will be cherished just as much!
The local Prologue starting at Stirling Castle will be a real feast of excitement as the main teams get to check each other out and local teams get to race against those going the full distance. It will be a great send off for Team Tri Active Stirling as they have a number of Stirling Triathlon Club and Active Stirling members and staff taking part in this short but challenging event based at Stirling Castle. The local organisers have taken time to ensure all of the key local sights will be taken in showing off the fabulous sights, paths and trails Stirling City Centre has to offer. Competitors and spectators will be amazed at what is on offer.
Training sessions have gone very well over the past 2 months where team Tri Active have been getting in as many multi-discipline sessions in as possible. The team have managed over the past 2 weeks to do a 12 hour trek over 5 Munros, mountain biked over 100 miles, canoed over 50km and ran every day. They are confident they are fit and as ready as we can be for the toughest endurance event they have ever undertaken. They are excited ... with a hint of fear and trepidation.
You and your team can go for gold and win some fantastic prizes from adidas TERREX.
