The Sting in Stirling
Team adidas TERREX are the Winners!

Just before 5pm on Friday evening Team adidas TERREX crossed the finishing line of the Sting in Stirling Adventure Race, right outside race HQ at the Peak sports centre.
Fittingly they were the first team to cross the line, despite completing a 45 minute orienteering course part way down the paddle, which some other teams had skipped. They paddled and rode past those who had got ahead of them, knowing they had an unassailable lead, and after having a full nights rest at Grandtully. Their pace had been so fast and so far ahead of the other teams that they had the chance to make a luxury overnight stop at the Inn on the Tay hotel, have lunch and take a full 8 hours of sleep!
Not surprisingly they looked in good shape as they ran across the line together to the applause of spectators and officials, to be given their medals by James Thurlow, spray some champagne and be interviewed by the media. Although the team had had several stops Tom Gibbs said, “It was still a hard race and is very satisfying to win. I was particularly impressed with the mountain biking, which was some of the best I’ve done at any race anywhere in the world. It was fantastic.”
The team are supported by the race sponsors and had won a World Series race on home soil, ensuring a free entry in the World Champs in France ... which is now only a few weeks away.
New team member Chris Hope had fitted in well, and often lead the way but it will be a slightly different team going to the World Championships, where they will hope to improve on their 4th place finish last year ... and maybe repeat their victory of a few years ago.
After such a dominant and powerful performance in this race they will be in good spirits for their next challenge.
