The Everest Trail Race Reaches Jiri

The Everest Trail Race expedition has reached Jiri, where it will begin the first of six stages of the race.
After a long journey, eight hours by bus from Kathmandu to Jiri, the thirty participants in this third edition of the Everest Trail Race were installed in a comfortable temperature.
The first stage, from Jiri to Bhandar is 21 and a half kilometers, with a cumulative drop of 3795 meters, and 1975 of climbing. The stage is not one of the most complicated, since runners will move approximately at altitudes of 2000 meters (the maximum is 2715 meters at Deurali Pass).
The Mayor of Jiri will do the honours, along with the race director, Jordi Abad, to set of this first stage, where a local musical troupe to add some color.
The start will be at nine o'clock local time (quarter to five in the morning Spanish time) and the first runners will arrive at the finish about three hours later.
