6th STAGE’; Tyangboche – Lukla 29 km
The third edition of the Everest Trail Race has ended in Lukla with victories for Upendra Sunuwar (Adeaventura‐Annapurna Treks) in the men’s category and Fernanda Maciel (THE NORTH FACE‐ COMPRESSPORT) team PURE BEAUTY, in the women’s category.
After six stages in the Solo Khumbu region of Nepal, the Everest Trail Race ended with a final stage from Tyangboche to Lukla, which was ‘mainly’ downhill. It was once again clear the superiority of the two runners who have dominated the race, the Nepalese Upendra Sunuwar winner of five of the six stages of the race, and Brazil's Fernanda Maciel, winner of all stages in the female category.
In today's stage, three athletes have crossed the finish line together in second place, Andreas Schambeck, Paco Salas and Lluís Puig.
In the men’s podium Upendra Sunuwar will be accompanied by Lluís Puig as second, and Paco Salas as third, while on the podium of the overall female racers Fernanda Maciel will be accompanied by Yangdi Lama Sherpa and Shiri Leventhal (USA).
In the veterans category (over fifty years) Esteve Sala (Coses De Muntanya‐Tuga) has dominated the overall standings and Adeaventura‐Annapurna were the first ranked team.
The Everest Trail Race organization works for the fourth edition of the race in November of next year. Registration is open and the aim is to increase the number of national and international participants.
