Equator of the EVEREST TRAIL RACE 4th edition has been reached. Samir Tamang (ADEAVENTURA - ANNAPURNA TREKS) and Anna Comet (DINAFIT - PROVETSA) maintain their leadership.
A priori, today’s stage would be considered a quiet one to serve as a test for the participants’ physical condition after the yesterday’s great effort. A new stage in which the Everest has been better viewed as well as the south wall of the Lothse
After the departure from Bhanjyiang Jase, runners have had a short climb of about 2km up to 3800m and then 8km of sustained descent till Jumbesi control. After that, moderate ups and downs have alternated and the stage has finished with a steep rise to the Kharikhola finish line.
Samir Tamang (ADEAVENTURA - ANNAPURNA TREKS) has managed to get a lead of almost 20 minutes over his fellow Phudorje Lama Sherpa (ADEAVENTURA - ANNAPURNA TREKS) whose performance has been affected by a fall in the downhill stretch, while the Basque Zigor Iturrieta (COMPRESSPORT) holds the third position.
In the women, Anna Comet (DINAFIT - PROVETSA) reaffirms her leadership while recognizing that she arrived very exhausted. She has an advantage of more than two hours on her immediate pursuers, Kerry Sutton (TRI MEETS TRAIL) and Yangdi Lama Sherpa (ADEAVENTURA - ANNAPURNA TREKS).
The 4th stage will be developed tomorrow between Kharikhola and Phakding with 31km length and 5331m. cumulative altitude (2995m. positive and 2335m negative) that will test again participants’ physical and mental resources.
