Pepsico TransRockies Run
Stage 1: Great Conditions for Running and a Great Vibe!
Press Release / 12.08.2015

Stage 1 of the 2015 TransRockies Run got off to ripper of a start this morning with some serious racing taking place among the sharp end of the field.
Mother Nature was kind to the field of over 400 Runners today with some mild temps and the rain holding off on what is usually a scorching hot stage on the exposed trails starting in downtown Buena Vista on the banks of the Arkansas River and ending at Railway Road Bridge.
Rob Krar and team mate, Mike Smith set a hot pace today taking the stage win in the men's Run 6 Team with the Puzey brothers breathing down their necks a mere 2 minutes and some change back in second place. Eric Sensemen and Brian Condon rounded out the podium in 3rd in place.
Jenn Shelton and team mate Kathryn Ross burnt some rubber out there today with their opening stage win in the women's Run 6 Team race, stretching their lead to a sizable margin. The 2nd place team of Katie Snowden and Nicole Stevens will chase them up and over Hope Pass tomorrow in attempt to do some damage control.
There were many happy but tired faces at the finish line today and some hungry runners taking advantage of the spectacular meals on offer back at camp.
We look forward to tomorrow's pretty tough stage with some elevation and technical running.
