Thousands To Flock To Augusta Adventure Fest This Weekend

This weekend, over 3,000 competitors and 8,000 spectators will descend on Augusta in south west, Western Australia for the Act-Belong-Commit Augusta Adventure Fest – the biggest adventure race in the world. It’s the 11th edition of this iconic adventure race, which features new courses, a new consolidated event layout and new prize money for teams in 2016.
The premier event is the Act-Belong-Commit Augusta Adventure Race on Sunday held over a NEW course:
- 13.8km Spirit Inlet and Ocean Paddle – NEW
- 28.5km Winners Mountain Bike – NEW
- 1.9km Inlet Swim – NEW
- 13.4km Coastal Run – NEW
- 400m Team run - NEW
The Act-Belong-Commit Augusta Adventure Race also incorporates the inaugural State of Origin Teams Trophy, a battle between All-Stars teams from Queensland, Victoria and Western Australia who will go head-to-head for the cash on Sunday.
As well as the full Adventure Race, there is also the half-distance Augusta Mini Adventure Race and the Augusta Junior Survivor for kids, both held on Saturday.
The Act-Belong-Commit Augusta Adventure Fest is proudly sponsored by Healthway to promote Act-Belong-Commit, a community-based health campaign encouraging people to take action to improve their mental health and wellbeing.

- 11:00am: Act-Belong-Commit Augusta Mini Adventure Race - RACE START at Colourpatch Boat Ramp, Albany Terrace, Augusta
- 3:30pm: Act-Belong-Commit Augusta Junior Survivor - RACE START on Albany Terrace
- 5:30pm: Welcome to Country Ceremony followed by race briefing for the premier Act-Belong-Commit Adventure Race
Sunday 6 November
- 8:00am: Act-Belong-Commit Augusta Adventure Race (premier event) - RACE START at Colourpatch, Albany Terrace, Augusta WA. Starting with a spectacular mass paddle start.
- 11.30am: First finishers expected
- 4:00pm: Official presentations at the Adventure Expo, Turner Caravan Park, Albany Terrace, Augusta WA
