Riding The Dragon Trail MTB Stage Race in Tasmania

In this video we follow the journey of 3 riders as they tackle the 3 Day Dragon Trail MTB stage race in Tasmania.
The first rider is Michael John Milton, OAM. Michael is an Australian Paralympic skier, Paralympic cyclist and paratriathlete with one leg. Michael is the fastest Australian on skis and holds the open Australian downhill speed skiing record, beating the top recorded speeds by able-bodied skiers. His personal best downhill speed is 213 km/h. He is also Australia's most successful Australian Paralympic athlete in the Winter Games holding 6 gold, 3 silver and 2 bronze medals. Michael hasn't ridden the newer evolution of trails that are emerging in Tasmania. In this video we follow his progress in tackling the Dragon Trail MTB in Tasmania.
The next rider is Luke Webster, a local teacher at St Helens, who is stepping up for his first Dragon Trail event. In the video Luke rubs shoulders with the elites and manages to finish in a very impressive 6th place.
Our final rider is Tash Thackery. This is Tash's second Dragon Trail. Tash prefers to use the event as a holiday, a true break from her busy work schedule. Tash's approach is to enjoy every moment and make full use of the stops along the way.
The Dragon Trail in an annual mountain bike stage race in the Tasmania Wilderness. It takes riders on a journey through Australia’s undisputed mecca of mountain biking, Derby, Blue Tier, Bay of Fires & St Helens.
On each of the three unique days of racing, riders experience sensational flowing single track, purpose-built by trail gurus World Trail, through some of the most remarkable landscapes in Tasmania The race is fully supported with options for airport transfers, camping hubs, mechanical services and some incredible Tasmanian food.
