Cape Wrath Ultra
400km in 8 days. Aly's Cape Wrath story
19.10.2018

Aly Wren is a mum, granny, wife, friend of many, and a runner and explorer on a magnificent scale.
Through her ongoing dedication to training, and her outgoing, supportive nature, she has long been an inspiration for friends and family alike.
Aly has taken on many of the UK's biggest running events, from marathons to ultra marathons. She also ran the entire length of the UK with a friend, from Lands End to John O Groats, covering 1208 miles in 48 days. Between them they raised over £10k for charity, and inspired many people along the way.
Now comes Aly's next big challenge. And in some ways, her biggest one to date - The Cape Wrath Ultra. The Cape Wrath Ultra is a once in a lifetime 8 day expedition race, covering 400km though the Scotland highlands. The event requires an extremely high level of personal fitness, as well as a good level of general survival skills.
Aly will be raising money for Marie Curie Cancer Care along the way. This is a charity close to her heart, as she has lost 2 very close friends to cancer in recent years. Aly also had cancer of the thyroid herself 30 years ago, and went on to dedicate her life to helping people as a Cancer carer.
Please take a moment to watch her story. She is my mum, and she is without doubt the biggest inspiration in my life. I love her more than words can say. Her dedication to training is on a scale that I can't quite comprehend.
I hope you enjoy her story.
All donations are welcomed with open arms. Every single penny counts and will go to a wonderful cause. I can't tell you how much your support means. Whether it comes in the form of a donation or a kind word. It is all so greatly received.
