The Himalayas are calling. Test yourself against the best and challenge your own limits at Asia’s premier mountain bike race –  Hero MTB Himalaya!

The 12th edition of the Hero MTB Himalaya will be held from 24 September to 03 October 2016 in Himachal Pradesh, India. 650 kms, average elevation of 2000 ms every day, net elevation gain of 15,000m - all civered in 8 days of riding.

The race has seen some world renowned riders like Luis Leao Pinto, Cory Wallace,Pau Zamora,Andreas Seewald, Catherine Williamson, Reimund Dietzen,Ilda Pereira and Sonia Lopes among others competing at the race.

Considered to be one of the toughest races in the world, Hero MTB Himalaya is not for the faint hearted. A race that takes the riders through the untouched parts of the Himalayas, bustling towns and villages, across streams – all set amidst the beauty of the mighty Himalayas. With a total elevation gain of almost 50,000 feet in the previous edition, even the most experienced riders found the altitude challenging.

A pure adventure race set amidst the Deodar forests demand pure concentration, power of will and a strong spirit to ride through one of the toughest terrains you have ever experienced. It is not just the technical tracks, but also the altitude you have to reckon with. A distance of approximately 650 kms is covered in 8 riding days. The camp is set at a new base each day – sometimes in meadows at the base of mountains in Kullu Sarahan and the fields at Khegsu. The experience is made complete with the school programs that are conducted at camps and in other schools along the route.
