\"We\'re very excited about bringing the BEAST to the Adirondacks,\" said Angell. \"With over 3,000 ponds and lakes, hundreds of miles of canoe routes, white-water, beautiful backcountry, and 46 peaks over 4,000 feet, the Adirondack Park contains all of the ingredients for a world class race course. The Beast will not only be a race, but a journey and an experience of a life time,\" he added. \"We have dreamed of bringing our landmark event to New York, and this year it will finally happen.†“The Adirondacks are such a great playground that racers from around the US and the world are in for a real treat,\" commented co-owner Hollie Flynn.
Established in 1882 and comprised of over six million acres of public and private land, The Adirondack Park is the size of Vermont and larger than Yellowstone, Everglades, Glacier, and the Grand Canyon National Parks combined. The Park contains 85 percent of all wilderness in the Eastern United States. There are also many villages and towns within the park including familiar names like Old Forge, Lake George, and Lake Placid - which has twice hosted the winter Olympic Games.
