Terrain: The area is new for mountain bike orienteering in Queensland and is part of an extensive hoop pine plantation and eucalypt forest with a good track system. It is within 10 minutes of Blackbutt and 15 minutes from Yarraman and is approximately 2 hours drive from Brisbane. Final directions will be posted on the web site on Monday evening 4th September.

Directions: From Brisbane: travel via Caboolture, Kilcoy and Moore to Blackbutt Approx. 2Hrs drive.
From Sunshine Coast travel via Peachester, Kilcoy and Moore. Approx. 2Hrs drive.
From Toowoomba: travel via Crows Nest Cooyar and Yarraman Approx 1.5Hrs drive
From Ipswich: travel via Esk Harlin and Moore. Approx 1.5Hrs drive.
Other: Be a part of history and compete in the first Queensland Mountain Bike Championships, to be held on Sunday 10th September, in forest near Blackbutt.

Payment is either by Direct Deposit/Branch Deposit into the Queensland Orienteering Association bank account as per the entry form on the website or by cheque or money order.
Once you have entered the system will send you an email confirming your details, total fees and payment instructions. Payment MUST be received by the closing date.
This event will use the `Sportident` electronic timing system. If you own an SI stick, please include its number on the entry form.
Because the event is a championship, there will also be a start draw, which will be seeded where possible, ie. the best riders in each age class will be spaced out amongst the field. If you are late for your designated start time, you will still be allowed to start, BUT your start time commences from when you were offically supposed to start.
The start draw will be posted on the web site on the evening of Monday 4th September. Starts will be from 9:30am.
Final instructions and directions to the assembly point will be emailed to you the morning after the closing date, please make sure you check for them.
Competitive Age based classes have a fixed course length, if you want a different one choose a Social class when entering online.
The 3 Social classes are for individuals and groups who only want to compete on a social basis. These classes are non-championship.
The entry fee for groups/family equals 2 Member/Non-member Adult fees plus $5 per additional person. Each group will get two maps only.
The coloured maps for the championships will have the course pre-printed on them.
The map scale will probably be 1:25,000. The maps for courses 3, 4 and 5 will be A4 in size. Those for courses 1 and 2 will be larger.
There will be cold drinks and catering for lunch on the Sunday by a community group from Blackbutt.
