Done your share of sprint races, with their “special challengesâ€, the urban adventure runs through the subways, the out and back loops through too many town parks? Are you looking to go just a bit further, go just a bit longer, and go just a bit tougher? Then this Odyssey race is for you!
This Odyssey One-Day Adventure Race will offer a fun and doable 24 hr course for racers looking to add miles and hours to their race resume, great training for seasoned athletes and as always, Odyssey guarantees a rewarding experience for all! Traveling through the historic Shenandoah Valley, racers will be treated to a winding paddle on the Shenandoah River, limited mountain biking on trails and forest service roads and trekking in, over and around the Shenandoah Valley and Massanutten Mountain. The race course will encompass approximately 70 miles.
The Odyssey One Day is unsupported, and open to Soloists and Teams of 2, 3, or 4. Divisions will include all Male, all Female, Co-ed & Masters. Teams will need to provide their own boats. 4 Person Co-ed Teams using the canoes specified (see gear list) will be in the premier division and eligible for prizes.
Total Distance: 69 miles
18 miles trekking (mostly singletrack)
28 miles biking (all gravel, dirt & paved roads)
17 miles paddling (Class I & II)
