Length: 52 km
Location: Newquay
Cornwall’s premier location. The Newquay Triathlon boasts a challenging surf swim, rolling bike ride, scenic coastal run. Lusty Glaze Bay is located within partying distance of the town centre but just far enough away to remain secluded.
Swim: Surf swim. A rectangular course of 750 metres followed by the 100 steps up to transition. (Exact course subject to surf conditions). Standard distance race does two laps of course with a short beach run between laps. See the photo gallery for the exciting sea conditions of the 2008 event. In the highly unlikely event of the Beach Life Guards deeming the surf conditions too rough to swim in the event will be a 5km / 40km / 10km Duathlon. Every effort will be made to achieve a sea swim.
Transition: Located in the car park above Lusty Glaze Bay. Exit from the swim, up the beach then up the cliff steps. This should warm the legs up for the bike!
Bike: Out and back undulating route to Padstow. See route map for further details.
Run: Coastal path out and back run course.
Road Biking Swimming Entry Fee( GBP ) 40/70/40
