Raid in France 2014, Volcanos to Camargue
News Release / 22.07.2014

An inconic European adventure race, the 6th edition of Raid in France will take place from the 13th of September to the 20th. Named Volcanos to Camargue, the track will guide 30 international and French teams, from Haute-Loire to Grau-du-Roi, the principal town of Camargue after a 580km crossing of the regions of Auvergne, Rhone-Alpes and Languedoc-Roussillon.
An Amazing Route
The 100% natural track will go through remote territories, requiring orienteering and technical skills. The landscapes and wilderness will inclusde the historical Auvergne volcanoes environment, the high valleys of Ardeche and Cevenes, and last but not least, the astonishing Camargue. Our motto of 'Back to Nature' suits perfectly this new edition of the race.
"Raid in France is an authentic race where racers are independent, use 1/50 000 maps and have total respect for the environment. It is also an amazing human adventure, shared with 100 volunteers," said Pascal Bahauaud the Race Director.
An Olympian finalist in rowing (Seoul 1988) in his first life, and adventure racer in his second, Bahuaud has an impressive C.V. in outdoor races (10 Raid Gauloises, 6 podiums). Since 2007 he has found a new challenge: organising Raid in France. Always hoping for new adventures, he travels through France for weeks to find the best tracks for the race of a lifetime.
