ENDURA Alpen-Traum
Entries Open for the ENDURA Alpen-Traum
News Release / 15.12.2014

This event makes every racing cyclist’s dream come true: to ride in one day across the whole width of the Alps. On September 12, 2015, the 3rd ENDURA Alpen-Traum will lead again from Sonthofen in the region Allgäu via Landeck in the region Tirol to Sulden in the region Vinschgau, from Germany to Austria with a short detour to Switzerland and then to Italy. Not less than 252 kilometers and 6,078 meters in altitude are waiting for current and former pros, ambitious amateurs and well-trained hobby-cyclists. Registration for this unique race opens on December 15, 2014.
After two successful editions, racing cyclists from all over the world will again have the chance to rise to the challenge of an Alpine crossing and to overcome geographic and personal limits at the ENDURA Alpen-Traum in 2015. The participants can choose between three different routes.
The long distance will lead the participants along 252 kilometers and 6,078 meters in altitude, across a total of six passes, from Sonthofen in Bavaria to Sulden in Italy. Those who are a little less hard-nosed can chose the shorter route starting in Landeck and still encompassing 146 kilometers and 4,315 meters in altitude. Additionally, in 2015, the organizers offer a further choice with the new route, the short distance via Prad: With 118 kilometers and 2,936 meters in altitude and without the crossing of the Stilfser Joch (one of Europe’s highest mountain passes), this distance is ideal for cyclists who probably want to catch a whiff of racing air for the first time or who do not yet dare to cycle across six or three passes.
And one thing is clear: Each route has its own charm and stunning views in abundance.
A smooth running of the event is guaranteed by the towns of Sonthofen, Landeck and Sulden as well as the organizers from PLAN B event company and RoadBIKE in advance and during the race. The main sponsor is ENDURA, the manufacturer of bike wear from Scottland who will, as many other exhibitors, inform about new products at the Expo. Furthermore, the organizers are very happy to be able to present three new partners: Continental, adidas eyewear and SRM.
“The first two editions of the ENDURA Alpen-Traum have shown that is an event with great potential - for the participants as well as for the sponsors and partners”, says Anika Stephan, project manager at PLAN B event company: “And thanks to the third route, we are sure that even more athletes will experience an unforgettable day.”
Already in the first two years about 750 participants registered for this unique Alpine crossing each time. They were awarded with an Alpine scenery which could not be more varied. Diversion in this really hard competition was not only provided by stunning panoramas but also by different weather conditions. From rain at the start in Sonthofen and snow on top of the pass Hahntenjoch to bright sun shine at the pass Stilfser Joch – everything included for the athletes.
Registration for the ENDURA Alpen-Traum will start on December 15, 2014. So those who want to secure themselves one of the popular starting places in time should hurry up. As of now, the registration form and conditions of participation, as well as all other information regarding the ENDURA Alpen-Traum can be found on www.alpen-traum.com
