The End of Day 4

With the end of day four of the Terra Incognita drawing near, three teams have finished the race and the fourth place team is expected at 1:00a.m. First team to finish is the Polish team, Team 1 - CCC Toyota Salomon at 7:50a.m. on Saturday morning. With a ten hour lead, Team 1 was able to sleep and enjoy a nice meal at Headquarters long before the second team came over the finish line.

As of this morning Team 17 - EAFiT was in the second place spot with only a half-hour lead over Team 5 - Salomon Opavanet at checkpoint 20. At 4:18p.m. Team 5 crossed the finish line 2 hours ahead of Team 17. Team 17 crossed the finish line at 6:19p.m. At some point during the final kayaking leg, Team 17 - EAFiT slept on the Island Raab and Team 5 - Salomon Opavanet passed them.

Team 18 - Total Commencal dropped out of the race this evening at Checkpoint 22 after the kayaking leg with only two team members racing. One of the team members withdrew from the race before the kayaking leg because with only three racers continuing, it made it impossible to do the kayaking leg with two boats.

Team 8 - Halgofs, with a fifth place lead most of the race, slipped back to eighth place at checkpoint 20 behind Team 14 - Pustolovec Rajd 1. This was an unexpected turn of events considering the large lead Team 8 had on the rest of the field. If Team 14 can hold this lead, they will have jumped from tenth place just yesterday, to fifth place today.
