The Kings Regiment to the Rescue
Susan McKenzie / 03.10.2005

Tricky, hard to come by, hit and miss: call it what you will, internet access in these remote regions of southern Brazil is not easy to find. After day in the national park, and an evening in a gas station car park (never mind internet, it doesn’t even have a phone!), it looked like today would be one of those “plenty of stories, but nowhere to file days.
Which would have been a shame, since I have a great mini-office set up at the 24-hour Charrua gas station. Electrical outlets, a chair, a table and plenty of yerva mate and Guarana to keep me going, but no internet juice.
But then Marco introduced himself to me
Marco Fabio Levy is doing support for the Canadian team Kings Canada, two of whom belong to the King’s Regiment in Calgary. Marco offered me his laptop and cell phone internet connection. Every story you see filed here today is only because of Marco’s amazing helpfulness. (I think it also helps that I’m Canadian, too.)
Journalists aren’t supposed to pick favourites (but we do) – so here I am shamelessly hoping my Canadian compatriots continue to do well in this race.
Thanks to everyone in King\'s Team Canada, eh?
