The 120-mile course will follow the trails, waterways, and migration routes of Chief Black Hawk and the Sauk and Fox Indians of the 1800’s. “The race has changed to take full advantage of the Midwest’s beautiful fall weather, the rich historical significance and the varied terrain of central and western Illinois,� said Gerry Voelliger, Race Director. “It’s more than an adventure. It’s an experience.� And this experience will stay with anyone who signs up. This unique race has much Historical significance.
Three-person teams will be accepted in three categories - coed, same gender, and masters (all over 40 years old). Teams will compete as they canoe, trail run/trek, mountain bike, orienteer, coasteer, and navigate over multiple route choices. The race course will go through state parks, historical sites, and back roads.
