The Raid World Championship 2006
A Picture Sometimes is Worth a 1000 Words

We spent the morning hanging out beside the covered bridge in l’Anse St Jean, waiting for a team, any team, to arrive. With the water levels so low this year, it’s impossible to imagine that almost 100 homes in this tiny town were swept away in 1996 during the flooding of the Saguenay River. The bridge has been destroyed twice by flooding, but was sturdy enough to support GoLite Timberland when the team came running by late this morning. It was definitely worth the wait.
Aaron Prince led the team, followed by Isaac Wilson, Marcel Hagener and Elina Maki Rautila. The sun was warm, and apparently Hagener was feeling the effects, because he had stripped down to his skivvies and was running almost au naturel.
\"The only running pants I have are this thick,\" GoLite Timberland\'s Marcel Hagener explained as he ran up the road pantlesse, his blue underwear beginning to creep slowly upwards.
The team kept a good pace but later in the day would get held up by a dark zone at TA11. They\'ll spend the night at the TA before tackling the ropes in the morning. They\'ll have burned all of their sleep time by that point, but the delay will wreak havoc with making subsequent dark zones.
