A race within a race within a race

So many packs have formed all across the leaderboard that it\'s almost as if multiple races are taking place simultaneously.

At the front - Nike Powerblast and Wilsa Helly Hansen and Les Arcs Quechua. GoLite Timberland leads off the second pack, which made the rappel off Cap Trinite this morning. That pack includes Spyder, Adidas Natventure, Sport 2000 La Fuma and Salomon Crested Butte.

The rest of the pack is hours behind the second pack, and absolutely out of contention to win (no kidding!)

We\'re heading out to catch some of the middle and back teams - really, we are. I promise. I think.

Eight teams in total have abandoned the race: ErTips, Salomon Chlorophylle, Tourag, Saab Salomon, Pedini Iret, Uka-X Lleda, Costa Daurada and Aigles Sybelles.

Race organisers are still predicting a Thursday morning finish for the top teams, and were debating dropping the final canoe section on the St Marguerite River, because the levels are too low for teams to be efficient.
