Adventure is back

The start of the first edition of the Raid in France will be held in the Pyrenees. Part of the AR World Series, the raid will be held in a different region of France each year. This first round (from 15th to 22nd September ) awaits up to 50 national and international teams. The ‘grand ’ French adventure raid which racers have been waiting for is now born.

The competition is organised by passionate adventure raiders Pascal Bahuaud and Bruno Vinuales, who feel that France offers one of the most beautiful adventure raid terrains in
the world. A diversity of scenery, land to explore, varied climate, and a richness in history and tradition await competitors.

Taking place each year in a different region, the event revives the original spirit of the ‘grand ’ expedition raids, putting racers in command of their capacity to manage effort and sleep (non-stop race), their navigational ability (GPS forbidden), and their ability to adapt to the terrain (very few control points). Each team\'s results and success will depend upon these factors.

The lengthening of time limits at control points will mean that the Raid in France
can address itself to amateur teams as well as professionals, thus allowing a larger
number of competitors to live this experience to the full.
