Adventure Racing Poland Championships
Day 1
27.09.2007

High time we posted news from the route. Unfortunately we loose internet signal quite often here so we'd like to ask our readers for a little patience. In the meantime the teams left CP5 already, Team 2 as the first one (at 11:41), Team 3 - 8 minutes later. It's too early to talk about any predominance. Both Estonian teams are in the lead in their country.
26.09.2007 / 13.55
At 1:45PM Team Vaude (2) showed up at CP8. They left two minutes later. Team 3 hasn't appeared there yet. The weather has positively changed. We have a sunny day, the temperature is growing up. But the Lake stays cold. We expect the teams to turn up in the TA around 3PM. We have first photos form the race so we recommend you to visit our gallery as well as the results.
26.09.2007 / 14.20
At 2:11PM Mountain Loghome Adventurers (3) reached CP8. It's 25 minutes difference between the teams now.
26.09.2007 / 15.35
Team 2 (Team VAUDE) showed up in the TA A. There are no time limits here. Probably teams will leave quickly for the next stage - mountain bikes. It's not the end with the water, that section the competitors start on water bikes as they have to get to the Werlas Peninsula where they literally going to jump on their bikes. More than 70 km long route and 2 special tasks are waiting for them.
26.09.2007 / 16.15
Next team has finished the kayak stage. They still have 25 minutes loss. They don't seem to bother and just like they told us themselves, it's not a big difference and is a part of their strategy. Mountain Loghome Adventures (Team 3) left the TA after 11 minutes at 4:12PM.
26.09.2007 / 17:50
Predominance of Team VAUDE (2) is growing up. On the CP13 they have an advantage of almost 40 minutes over Mountain Loghome Adventures (3), even that on the special task both teams spent comparable time. They left that checkpoint successively at 5:09PM and 5:46PM. That's the end of special tasks in that mountain bikes stage. Now only 55 km left to the Transition Area B.
26.09.2007 / 19:51
And the next CP (14) was reached by both of the teams. Check the details in the results which are constantly being updated. The race conditions are becoming harder and harder with every minute, lower temperature, dusking sky, it's going to be a long night.
26.09.2007 / 22.00
Mountain Loghome Adventures (3) is still loosing to the leading Team VAUDE (2) which started the next stage (trekking) already. It will take them to the highest Bieszczady peak, Tarnica (1346 metres above sea level). They haven't stayed in TA in Nasiczne for long, leaving their bikes and changing their shoes took them only 4 minutes, at 9:25PM the team was back on track. After another 15 minutes chasing after them Mountain Loghome Adventure passed CP16 and are running to the TA.
26.09.2007 / 22.30
So the Masters are having Mountain Tarnica to climb tonight. We calculate it's going to take them 4 to 4,5 hours. Our race base in Polanczyk got pretty busy and as we mentioned in the previous post the speed teams have arrived. Some of them were speeding that fast they were few hours late. So to conclude, we have got 15 teams on the Speed Race: 11 male, 3 mixed and making their debut in the adventure racing competitions - a female one. Fingers crossed and good luck to the girls... and other teams!
26.09.2007 / 23.30
25 minutes ago, at 11:05PM after 40 minutes in the TA B, Mountain Loghome Adventures (3) left for the Mount Tarnica where, by the way, is really windy and just about to rain. There is more than one hour difference between the rivals now. Team VAUDE has been on its way for two hours already.
