Netti MTB Enduro
Angry, Nasty and Irate
Diane Chanut - AROC Sport / 29.09.2008

. The Netti MTB Enduro was on for the second year running on 7 September 2008 and there was no shortage of takers out there to see if the Angry Doctor 100km or the Irate Intern 50km would “rip their legs off. With an amazing proportion of single track and super fun narrow fire trails people travel from all over Australia to come and try it out and enjoy the Eurobodalla Coast. For the events, the tracks were in great nick with the AROC Sport team spending the 2 weeks prior raking and preparing them. The rain the week before bedded in the berms and settled the dust, and the day of the race brought welcome sun- conditions were just perfect.
7am and it was on for the 100km riders with the 50km riders enjoying a little sleep in and following at 9am. A 1500m long hill at the beginning quickly sorted everyone out. The elite riders flew up like they were on the flat and hit the first single track without blinking. A lead group quickly emerged with Shaun Lewis (2nd in 2007) and Matt Flemming (3rd in 2007) and some first time Angry Doctors – Rockstar Racings’ Hamish Elliot and Troy Glennan. Andrew Blair was also there along with Jeremy Ross and Jason Chalker.
