She crossed the final 2km run finish line with a group of students she trains as part of her work as physical education teacher at Sunshine Beach High School.

Beckinsale, who also operates TriAdventures, a personal training company for adventure racers, had a hand in a third Anaconda victory.

Noosa's Brigitte Fischer, who trains with Beckinsale, was a member of the winning female team TriaAdventure Girls, which clocked a time of 4hrs 34min 45sec.

Beckinsale described her own result on Sunday as "amazing".

"I'm not very good at winning races," she said.

"I'm really competitive against myself, but I'm nice and honest out on the course. I'm just not one of those people who are super hungry to win."

In fact Beckinsale offered to be a wind-break for her student Seb Vejby, 15, of Noosa, who was hampered by a slow-leaking tyre during the mountain bike leg.

"I just slowed down and road with him so he could slipstream, then we just all ran in together," Beckinsale said.
"That's one of the things I really love about the Anaconda races, the teams run the last 2km together, so we crossed the line together - my students had exactly the same time as me."

The junior team included swimmer Alyse Packard, 16, of Sunshine Beach, replacement paddler Jack Butler, 15, of Tugun, runner Robyn Bennett, 16, of Noosa, and mountain biker Seb Vejby, 15, of Noosa.
