The first swimmer to exit the water was Anthony Brewin in a time of 24.42, a minute ahead of his closest rival. Hayley Bateup also had a terrific swim, she was the first female to exit the water in 27:44.
Paddlers then departed from Currumbin Alley heading towards the Tallebudgera creek, then up the river for a further 8km. The conditions for the paddle were good with minimal swell and wind, Hayley Bateup was firing in the paddle with a time of 1:16:17 in her lead up to Coolangatta Gold next month.
