The race covered more than 570 km, 7 days non-stop, with more than 28,000 meters of ascent. Racers descended 4 canyons including the famous canyon of Piscia di Ghjallu with an abseil of nearly 70 meters, a magical moment. They paddled 90 km in sea kayaks, trekked Corsican trails for approximately 250 kilometers, biked on steep tracks for more than 130 km and balanced themselves from a rope on 6 unforgettable aerial sections including a Via Ferrata ... The 2003 Corsica Raid was a visually spectacular and challenging race.

Teams came away with memories of sumptuous landscapes: rocks, summits, tafoni, forests, lakes, pozzines, cascades or beaches, the organization of Corsica Raid Aventure did everything they could to offer the competitors some of the most beautiful treasures of the island. Places like Moriani and the cascade of Ucelluline, the splendid forests of the Vallée d’Orezza, the beaches of Bravone, the mountainous coast fo the Cotes des Nâces, the Plateau di Coscionu, the canyons Vacca and Piscia di Ghjallu, the beaches of Porticcio ... all these remain in the hearts of the racers.

Racers left Corsica with these dazzling images of a beautiful course in their heads, but exhausted from a week of racing. From 15 teams on the start line only 10 finished, the 2003 race was loyal to its motto of “Beautiful, Extreme, Unforgettable.

The Team Centre des Carmes - Digne les Bains (France) composed of Gil Pascal, Lionel Trivel, David Coullet, Jean-Michel Borne, Olivier Koskas and assistants Richard Tonnelli and François Imbert finished first, in front of Pedini Cucine (Italie-France) and the PSA Peugeot Citroen Sites de Sochaux – Mulhouse (France).

2004 will be the 10th anniversary of the Corsica Raid Aventure and it will be held earlier in the year, as it used to be, the dates are May 29 – June 5, 2004.

[Ed. - Not much detail on how the race developed, but the pictures are nice!]
