France Takes First Place
Press Release / 15.09.2014

France won the honours at medals ceremony as the two French teams, a 4 man team and a 2 man team have both won their categories. We're talking about team Trails Endurance Mag and Cahors Lot Orientation. In the 150 K men's duet category, the local team 'GalopeuXtreme, Michel Bujold and Gaston Berthelot, won the honours.
An imposing crowd cheered for them when they crossed the finish line at the Parc des Pionniers : their fans were there to welcome them! The population of Carleton-sur-Mer was so proud of them! In the mixted team of four category, it was the team Mundial St-Raymond, with Lyne Bessette, who won the first place after a spectacular race day as they had been at the third place during the 2 first days of racing. The team of Simon Côté, spokesperson of the Raid International Gaspésie won the third position in the mens team of 4 category.
All the adventure racers agreed that it has been a very fast race, the leading teams racing close together even after 3 days of race, this resulted in creating pressure among them to win, but also created links between them as they had the feeling of making the race together. At the final feast, the different teams had only good words for the other teams with whom they had raced with all throughout the competition.
All the participants have noted the incredibly welcoming attitude of the Carleton-sur-Mer people, who were there for them during the entire week, cheering for them along the course, and they have been amazed by the beauty of the region. They will all go back in their respective countries with unforgettable memories.
